CAROL STREAM, IL – On May 12, 2025, the Carol Stream Park District welcomed newly elected Park Board Commissioners Katie Becker and Jenn Pauling, and re-elected Commissioner Adam Parisi. Executive Director Sue Rini administered the Oath of Office during a regularly scheduled Board meeting. The District is proud to introduce the following commissioners and their backgrounds:
Katie Becker brings a strong foundation in horticulture and public service to the Park Board. A Carol Stream resident for seven years, she began her career as a horticulturist for the park district and now works in forestry and landscape maintenance for a public works department. Her professional experience offers a valuable perspective on environmental stewardship and facility upkeep. Katie is focused on improving native area maintenance, addressing long-term site solutions, and promoting affordability through grant funding. She also values transparency and community engagement, often connecting with residents through social media and public meetings.
Jenn Pauling has served the Carol Stream community for over 15 years through childcare, school involvement, and leadership on multiple youth sports boards. Her hands-on experience with local families gives her a strong understanding of community needs, particularly in youth programming. Jenn prioritizes expanding recreational access for all ages, improving operational efficiency through partnerships and innovation, and strengthening public trust through open communication. Her collaborative approach and commitment to community-driven leadership make her a strong addition to the Board.
Adam Parisi, re-elected for a four-year term, has served on the Park Board since May 2024 when he was appointed to fill a vacant seat. A Carol Stream resident for 13 years, Adam has a background in education and finance, currently serving as a Chief Financial Officer in a public school district. His leadership roles as a teacher, coach, and administrator inform his approach to strategic planning and fiscal responsibility. Adam is committed to expanding recreational opportunities, maintaining quality facilities, and ensuring transparency through collaborative governance. His continued service reflects a dedication to long-term community enrichment.
The Carol Stream Park District looks forward to the leadership and insight Commissioners Becker, Pauling, and Parisi bring to the Board. Their diverse backgrounds and shared commitment to community service support the District’s mission to enrich lives through outstanding recreational opportunities, responsible stewardship, and inclusive programming for all residents.
